Luis Feito López (Madrid, 1929- 2021) was a Spanish painter. He was a founding member of the Madrid group El Paso, which emphasized innovative anti-academic, morally and socially responsible and innovative art for Spain.
One of the figures of Spanish abstraction, of informalism. His first works fall within figuration, later he experiments with cubism and finally reaches abstraction. At first he essentially uses black, ocher and white before discovering the potential of light; He then begins to paint with intense colors such as red, which creates a counterpoint to the powerful drips of black paint.
"We opened doors that ventilated the Spanish artistic climate"
