Edward ARROYO
Eduardo Arroyo Rodríguez (Madrid, 1937-2018), Spanish painter, sculptor and engraver, considered one of the main representatives of critical figuration, with political and social content. A committed and critical artist, he tends to demystify art due to his pictorial “discourse”, which makes him an inspiration for narrative figuration. According to him, painting has the ability to tell a story. In 1958, at the age of twenty, expressing his opposition to Francoism, he fled Spain for Paris where he would live until 1982.
