José Pedro CROFT

José Pedro Croft (Porto, 1957) is one of the most prominent visual artists in the contemporary Portuguese scene, internationally recognized for his exploration in sculpture, printmaking, and drawing. His work is distinguished by a constant dialogue with architecture, where he deconstructs the concepts of volume and balance through abstract forms with a minimalist approach.
Developing his career between drawing and three-dimensional space, Croft's trajectory is marked by the masterful use of industrial materials such as metal, glass, and mirrors. In his work, the artist constantly challenges visual perception, forcing the viewer to circle the piece to understand its instability and rich poetic dimension.
"The interest of my work lies in its nuances and small differences, not in any attempt to pigeonhole it into a specific line of work."
